Joining us at Nursery

Useful information when your child starts at Nursery.

After initial enquiry, you will be invited along for a tour of the setting and to meet staff. We usually have a ‘play party’ for new families at the beginning of every term. Please come along with a ‘list of questions’ to ask and don’t be afraid to discuss any concerns or objections about our service. We will be more than happy to talk these through with you.

After your visit, we ask you to provide us with a response within 48 hours as to whether or not you require a place. As you can appreciate, someone else may be waiting on this response before they can place their own child.

We want your child to be happy and to feel safe and secure at Nightingales. We suggest that perhaps your child could be with us for one hour to begin with, building up to a full morning/afternoon/full day.

You will be asked to supply your child with a change of clothing/underwear. Please also ensure that your child doesn’t wear jewellery when he/she comes along.

Late Collection

We understand that on occasions parents/carers are unavoidably late collecting children. We please urge that if this happens you contact the nursery immediately and organise alternative arrangements if necessary. Two members of staff will always remain with your child in these circumstances, but as you can appreciate some staff members also have their own childcare commitments, so it is essential that you remain in contact with us.
