Please request a prospectus for your chosen Nursery, which will include the details of services offered at that setting. Our new Clydach setting has a bespoke sensory room available, which parents from any of the settings can access for their child.
At Nightingales we have a fully equipped play rooms, teaching both English with basic ‘everyday’ Welsh. We also use basic sign language as a means of communication. We have low level storage, to promote independent play, a book areas, topic areas, home corner areas and messy play/art areas. We follow a daily timetable, which allows us to have a structured but flexible approach. We plan for the children’s education as well as their individual needs and interests. We have a wonderful secure and secluded outside play areas and promote free flow settings, allowing the children to have as many choices as possible and develop their independence and decision-making skills.
We have settings located within Tonypandy, Penygraig and Cwm Clydach with our own entrance and facilities. We work closely with the local schools to ensure children making the transition into the Nursery are well prepared and ready to move forward into school life.
We will produce written plans for your child showing how we will promote learning through fun, structured ‘play’ activities as well as allowing time in the day for independent play and response to spontaneous events, such as the arrival of snow, a spider catching a fly on a web close to the window etc! We will also encourage children to interact with each other, developing essential social skills. We have a range of quality toys and books and lots of ideas for fun learning activities. We will also plan play activities in order to ensure your child develops emotionally, physically and socially. You will have access to evidence of your child’s learning as well as receiving general daily notes/verbal communication. All other documentation required by CIW will be kept and we work within all CIW guidelines.
Within CIW Inspection guidelines there are 4 areas that we are inspected on:
- Well-Being
- Care and Development
- Leadership and Management
- Environment
We welcome children with additional needs. We have considerable experience working with children who require extra support, particularly those with hearing or speech difficulties. Wheelchair access is available. We would also discuss in great detail with you, the implications/needs that your child will have, taking into consideration the other needs of the children in the setting, to ensure that everyone is completely happy and that your child as well as the other children, will benefit by attending Nightingales Day Nurseries.
We believe that the service we provide reflects the care we would expect our own children to receive. Your child will be cared for in a safe, welcoming and above all learning and stimulating environment.
We offer optional virtual visits as well, prior to your child starting and in addition to visiting us at one of our settings that best suits your needs ( In line with Covid restrictions).
All policies and procedures are available at the settings. Hard copies are available on request and all policies/procedures are available and sent as a PDF document via email or through our parent app.
